Mystery VM Box in Apartment
Hi,
I recently moved into a newly built apartment block that supplies WiFi to all residents across the building. I am wondering if it’s possible to use Ethernet with the setup they have provided.
There is a VM box in the utility room which is connected to a socket plug via cable (coax?), beside this there are 2 Ethernet ports - see attached image. In the living room there are 2 identical Ethernet ports.
Does anyone know if it’s possible to use these with the box shown? I haven’t been able to find this box online. The box and has no accessible ports on any side but looks like it can be opened by unclasping the outer cover. I’m assuming if I could hook these ports up it would correspond to their equivalent ports in the living room.
Thanks in advance for any help!
This appears to be a recent VM RFoG conneciton,
I'd expect the wall box to contain contain the end of a VM fibre cable
plugged into an Optical Network Terminator ( ONT ) & perhaps a coax splitter,
the small mains plug is the power supply for the ONT.
A VM Hub would also be required to provide an internet service,
the Hub would be coax connected into the larger wall box.
