Bergerac Mystery

There has been a certain amount of hoohar about the Bergerac "reboot". There's even a reference on the VM website for it on the 27th February What to Watch. Maybe someone could have a word with whoever controls the TV box guide then, as it lists that episode (S01E01) as being a re-showing of the one from 1981 titled "Picking It Up".🤔

Maybe it would have been better for the production company had they given it a new title?

I assume there isn't a VM member of staff hidden away in a dark room somewhere, typing in the information contained in the guide, it being supplied as some sort of file that is "pasted" in.

    Be aware, my box thinks it’s an ‘old’ so if you have it set to record ‘new only’ it will not record. I had to set ‘record everything’.

    You've posted on the tivo board so assuming you do have a tivo V6 box then you should be able to set a manual recording for that program using the date and time.

    I've checked the U&Drama TV guide on the broadcasters own website https://u.co.uk/tv-guide/drama and it shows that the new program/series should indeed be showing at 9pm on Thursday 27th.  

    When the VM EPG differs from the website of the broadcaster's published schedule for these programmes as it does in this case, you should email tivoguideerrors@virginmedia.co.uk  Although they don't usually reply to the emails they will update the EPG with the correct info/metadata.

      Thank you for the email address, I sent them a message and the description has changed, though not the "New" tag for the first episode, so I've left the manual one for that, and let the series link do the business for the rest. 🤞

        It's not the "new" flag that TiVo-firmware uses for series-link logic, that's just cosmetic.

        The first-aired date is both crucial & fundamental.

    They shouldn't have bothered at all. You can't improve on John Nettles, and he's still available for hire at 81 to make some new stuff !
