My IP is shown as in the 10.0.0.0 subnet in my Forum account

My IP is shown as in the 10.0.0.0 subnet in my Forum account, a private range, even though an internet check says my external IP is otherwise. Is this why I'm having so much difficulty with the board software?

I registered a new account to test, and if I go to profile, I get "User does not exist, let's get you back on track." Same as my usual account. I'm using another browser just to get this far.

If I select settings first, then profile link works, yet not all my posts materialize, even though they initially show up for me.

You are not alone in seeing the 10.x.x.x IPs in the forum a/c, the IP range is usually seen in larger companies for internal IP address ranges so I'd assumed that in error some kind of internal IP has been recorded.   Others might have further views.

In respect of the User does not exists, this again does not appear to be limited to your a/c and having used the forum from Firefox this morning clicking on this post gave me :

I am now using the form in MS Edge and this post opened without issues, I'm about to discover if it is possible to post this reply ...

      Very Insightful Person

      Client62  and Data

I've received the above message a few times over the past few days including today, using the latest version of Chrome (Version 137.0.7151.68 (Official Build) (64-bit)) on my Windows 11 PC.

I haven't bothered checking with other browsers as if I refresh the page then I can display the page (post) normally.   I tend to see the same message if I remain on the page for a few hours, however if I refresh the page (and haven't been logged out) then it reappears as normal.

I don't see any private 10.0.0.0 subnet addresses in my Forum account, however non of the listed addresses is my actual IP address.

        Hi, newapollo,

My actual current external IP address is listed in there, but not as if it's currently used. I removed all the IPs and logged out/in, the 10.0.0.0 was the only one listed then.

I guess I'll wait, though the board appears to be working better since the browser update.

        Thanks guys.

I see over 100 IP addresses which were previously used to sign in to my account. The only problem I have with Firefox is that I keep having to log back in despite the fact that I've got cookies enabled.
