My 2.4 GHz WiFi imploded

Right before my eyes. There I was contentedly watching Dash Cam Owners Australia on YouTube and enjoying the colourful and inventive cursing (highly recommended btw) when it slowly drew to an unexpected halt. I did the Samsung TV network troubleshooting and no connection. 5 GHz was fine though (bands are split). I did the same on my phone and same again. I powercycled the TV - no luck. Hmmm. 

I went to the Hub 3 and all looked ship shape re lights and stats. No local faults. I powered off the hub and restarted. No change. I tried again with the Asus RT-AC86U router powered off (modem mode natch) and only powered the Asus back on when the Hub 3 was back and Bang - back in business with the 2.4 GHz.

New one on me.

 Any ideas?

    Asus RT-AC86U is a domestic grade Router, if a glitch can be cleared by a restart that is good,
    if it keeps occurring suspect a fault is developing.
