Moving home Virgin not available

I’m due to move house shortly and after checking the new postcode Virgin isn’t available at my new property, but I want to take it with me as I 1) work from home and need great reliable internet and 2) don’t want want to have to pay out of my contract.

Is there anyway I can get Virgin to be installed? I know they have it in the immediate area, just not on the small road the house I am buying is on.

  • Well the good news is that following a recent change of policy, if you move to a non VM serviced area, then you no longer have to pay the early disconnection fee.

Realistically though, there is virtually no chance of getting them to install in the road, at least not in the short to medium term. You will need to start investigating alternative suppliers.

  • Hi, this is the case with me too. Does anyone know whether or not the early cancellation fee still no longer applies? The thing is, I've tried to give a month's notice, but I can't get through to anyone in customer service by phone or chat at all. It's very frustrating.

We are unable to process any moves and transfer orders from here so you would need to contact our team to get this request actioned. We appreciate you have had difficulty getting through. We are open from 8am, which is our quietest time if you wish to call on 150/0345 454 1111. Our messaging team is not an immediate response team, however they will get back to you as quickly as possible.

For more information about the charges if you're unable to take our services with you, is in the link here virg.in/EDF

      Kind regards Jodi.

  • Just to follow up on this, around May next year I'll be leaving the house I currently have my broadband service provided by Virgin Media. I'm going to be moving onto my narrowboat so it might be a bit tricky to provide my new address, given I won't have one specifically. I wondered how this can be resolved. I'll be around a year and 3 months into my contract in May.

Thanks very much for any help/advice.

Thank you for reaching out to us in our community and welcome, thank you for the heads up regarding your move onto your Narrowboat, very exciting, so jealous.

When it come to moving anywhere it would be our movers team you will need to speak to at the time, you can find out more here, there may be an early disconnection fee however they will look into this at the time.

      Regards

      Paul.

  • Hi ldaviesdesign,

Thank you for reaching out to us in our community and welcome, we are sorry to hear you have been unable to speak to us regarding your house move, as you have advised the services are not available in the new property once you have sent evidence of this we would then waive any early disconnection charges.

When moving/ canceling we do require 30 days notice, canceling the Direct Debit will not stop charges however this may effect your credit file, so I can help I will send you an invite into a private chat, please click on the white envelope to accept.

    Regards

    Paul.
