Mixing White & Black WiFi Pods

I recently had an engineer attend to look at my faulty black wifi pod (also have 2 white pods) and he said he had to replace it with a white one as they dont work with the white pods.

Is this actually correct, as they were all running together for a year or so, and I preferred the flexibility of the black one with regards to socket location?

Not only that, but the new white pod doesnt seem to be working now!!

  • Hello AdamWiggy,

Welcome back to the Community, and thanks for taking the time to post. I’m sorry to hear of the issues that you’re experiencing with your WiFi pods at the moment. As far as Im aware the black and white pods can't work together as you've been advised by the engineer. What is currently happening with the new white pod, which isn't working? Are there any lights showing on the pod?

    Kind Regards,

There is no reason for them not to work, as the 2 Wifi standards are compatible.  The white ones are ac protocol, same as the Hub 3 & 4,  and the black ones are ax protocol, same as the Hub 5.  The downside is the speeds, if that is important.

As for the non working Pod, that may be it's not yet registered to your account?

Not an answer to your query, but do check the pods carefully. People have been reporting on here that the white pods have been getting very hot, burning the sockets and leaving soot in the room.
