Just lost internet, due to planned maintenance

I've just wasted 30 minutes on the phone to virgin which ended in arranging an engineer visit in 5 days to look at the cause of my outage.

Just found out there are Virgin media guys round the corner doing work to the poles. Why don't Virgin warn customers that maintenance work is due to be carried out? I could have made arrangements to work somewhere else.

Hi RlyPolyMacaroni 👋 Welcome back to the community forum! Thanks for posting.

Sorry to hear this feedback about your recent experience with our service.

We would usually let you know of any works happening in your local area which would be service affecting. Sorry to hear that this hasn't been the case here. It could be a coincidence, and your fault is un-related to the local works (which is why an engineer appointment has been booked to get it resolved.) We wouldn't usually book one of these if there's a local outage as the engineers would already be investigating and completing any works needed to restore your connection. In this kind of scenario, appointments for an individual residence can be auto-cancelled by our systems as any local issue would be resolved by the works on the outage. I'd recommend keeping an eye on your appointment in your online account 👉 virg.in/myVM just in case, in the run up to it!

Hopefully the appointment goes well and gets you sorted!🤞Let us know if there's anything else you need our help with.

Wishing you all the best! 🌞
