Ref my own post <here>  I'm based in Teesside however whatismyipaddress is showing me as being located in Basingstoke. I can usually request that site to update the location with the correct details however that's possible at present.

If I check my IP address using https://www.whatismyip.com/ it shows I am located near the Riverside Stadium (MFC's football ground) so it's only a couple of miles out, and that would be correct as the IP location isn't expected to be exact.

The incorrect location isn't affecting me accessing any sites or apps.

  • Hello Paper_Gangsta17

Thanks for posting in regards to the IP address and location issues, we understand the confusion and appreciate you raising this with us via the forums. Welcome to the community.

It's been a few days since your post and the advice offered by newapollo, were you able to follow that and get the location issue updated back to Stockton UK?

No there is nothing that can be done at the users end. The latest batch of IPs for our area have been designated as Stockton, USA instead of Stockton, UK. Please raise this issue with VM technical team this is not a community support issue nobody here can fix this.

  • Hi, I’m from Stockton on Tees too and I’m having the same issue, missing content on my Disney+ because of it, I’ve seen others from the same area with the same issue

I'd stay as Stockton US if I were you, much nicer place and weather 😀

  • Hi, sorry you're having problems with your IP address incorrectly showing the wrong location. Please see this thread  where we're actively looking into this and PM us with your account details and a traceroute to the site you're trying to access e.g. Netflix, Disney, etc. Thanks
