If we dont get a service we pay for do we get refunded?

If work is being done in my area for today and tomorrow (almost 2 days) causing broadband to go down, which means no Internet or TV, we usually watch. Do we get refunded? As we are paying for a promised service that isn't working for the next 2 days, there are "issues in my area" until tomorrow.

  • You usually have to report that you actually have an issue to start the 'compensation timer'.

    Assuming they know doesn't count.

Depends if this is planned work or an unplanned outage. It's extremely rare for a planned outage to cause a total loss of service for 2 continual days - these are usually concluded within a one-day outage window and often within a few hours. Also unless you're using VM's stream product or another internet-based TV setup, live TV doesn't use the internet.

For an unplanned outage, automatic compensation covers a loss of telephony and broadband service that extends beyond a 2working day window after being first reported - https://www.virginmedia.com/help/billing-and-payments/automatic-compensation
