I Cant access 18+ sites even though ive turned of parental controls

Ive accessed the parental controls throuhg virginmedia but i still cant access and unrestricted sites, and i cant use the virgin connect app as it says my account is closed or inactive. what do i do?

    Use a Public DNS like Google DNS or OpenDNS on either your mobile / laptop
    or enable a Secure DNS in the security settings of a Chrome or Edge or Firefox browser.
