Hub5x Latest Firmware 7.8.3-2410.5

Yesterday my Hub5x updated it's firmware to 7.8.3-2410.5

Issues

#1 Connecting to the router

After this I have noticed that FireFox permamantly complains that my connection to the router (http://192.168.0.1 which FF redirects to https://192.168.0.1) is not secure.

Warning me that it is a self signed certificate.

I have clicked on "Accept this risk and Continue", but I still get warnings every time I want to connect to the router.

#2 IPv6

I notice that Network Status -> Network log is now being spammed with a new message "erouter0 ipv6 address is empty"

When will IPv6 be properly supported?

Yes your web browser my do it and it normal for 192.168.0.1 to not have a valid  certificate

My FF version is 142.0 (64-bit) - not tried with other browsers yet.

IPv6 implemented to run side IPv4 correctly without NAT never IPv6 is not going to happen.

All the VM Hubs do that as it’s not an htttps, don’t worry about it. You should be able to add an exception somewhere in the browser. I know it can be done in Edge.
As for IPv6, that’s an old question and has been ongoing for over 10 years.  There is a really old thread somewhere in the archive.  At the moment it’s not on the cards I would suggest.  Also be careful as in VM IE, they have IPv6, but at the expense of CGNAT for IPv4 …

It did not do that before the firmware upgrade.

So VM have changed something to cause this https issue.

    On our wavelength

I now get this error on chrome

My 5X is also not working well crahes, disconections, gaming loses server, cant download etc

Works with a VPN or behind DMZ

  • Same here. DMZ fix works, but reduces security. And one 1 ip address. Have spoke to VM on messenger. Supposidly get a call today from a manager (who is probably not a manager) lol...

Bout time VM noticed this in the forums, they seem to be hiding and burying there head here...

All that hub 5x security and it blocks what the user wants...VM is protecting you!
