Hub 5 intermittent Ethernet connectio

weird thing happening (previously happened with Hub3)
I upgraded to 1 Gb recently after having some connection issues - all been well until yesterday when the same issue arose.
Set up is that PC (no wifi fitted) is connected to Hub 5 with a known good ethernet cable.
When I Switch on PC it is not connecting to internet and now the weird bit if i connect to Hub5 and then change the wifi signal of either 2.4 or 5Ghz - doesnt matter to what flavour of 802 it almost instantly connects to the internet!!
This makes no sense to me - all other devices connected are fine just my pc...
thought there was maybe a DNS issue so have flushed the cache to no avail
anyone have any ideas - only have windows defender now as deleted my 3rd party firewall/antivirus as it was causing other issues
network set to private or public this still occurs
Any thoughts??
