Hub 3.0 Port Forwarding

 

 

Hello Community,

I hope someone can help. I have been asked by my solar panel provider to enable a port:

”Do you have a firewall enabled with your ISP? - please check that Port 7654 on UDP/ TCP is unblocked”

I have the Hub 3.0 box and have managed to log into where the firewall settings are.

i presume I need to be in ‘port forwarding’, can someone help please to what IP I need to put in and which boxes need filling in? I have just copied the IP of what was there? And added the ports?

    Has the solar panel engineer successfully connected the system
    to the VM Hub 3 either by Wi-Fi or via a network cable ?

    Before setting off an a wild goose chase about firewall ports,
    do check that is not a much more basic problem 
    of the Solar Panel system not being connected to the VM Hub 3.

    From the Hub 3 menu at http://192.168.0.1/   log in with the numeric Hub password,
    and select the Connected devices menu option, it should be possible to see an entry
    that is your solar panel system.

    It will not be the first time at a loft mounted solar system was too far from the VM Hub to
    connect without the aid of a Wi-Fi repeater.

      Hello there,

      The connection worked with the previous VirginMedia Hub I had. I then had some work done in my living room which moved my Hub further away and it stopped working as it was out of reach. (Since then I have received the Hub 3 so it was never connected to this). 

      I purchased a wifi extender which carries the internet ok (connected my ipad onto it and the internet works etc on the extender). I managed to connect the solar panel dongle onto the wifi extender and it has a 68% signal strength (needs to be over 60% for reliable connection I am told). 

      My wifi extender shows that the Solar Panel is connected to it, but it somehow isn't sending a singal...

    This has nothing to do with port forwarding its a outgoing port

    If its connected and it don't work you need to use modem mode and get a better router with 1Gb ports

    The connection via a Wi-Fi repeaters sounds fine.

    Where is the Solar Panel supposed to be sending the signal too ?
