How register known outage for automatic compensation

Hi. There is a local outage in my area related to some maintenace work and a significant area NE13 being one has no broadband for over 14 hours. The VM bot says to register the outage for the automatic compensation. How do I do this eg is there an online option or do I need to ring it in and be in queue forever. Thanks

Phoning in is the best way. You can also try the automated service status number 0800 561 0061 to check for any faults in your area.

IIRC, I believe if the automated fault line tells you there is an outage that should also log you for the auto comp.

VM does, however, often play fast and loose with the auto comp rules so keep your own detailed records of everything along with any updates and notifications which should help you claim afterwards if the compo does not come through automatically.

Worth noting though that VM gets two full working days to fix a total loss of service before any compo is applied. Also no compo applies if VM has given you advanced notice of planned maintenance work.

    Hi RS001 👋.

Thanks for reaching out to us, sorry to hear of the outage that is ongoing in our area. When the website advises of a outage and there is a button under it requesting if you want to register for compensation, did you press that button?

    Please let us know.
