For some reason Facebook is really slow on all browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox) but other apps (eg. BBC web site) are running just fine. I called Virgin Media support but they couldn't find anything. What could be the problem?

It could be an issue with Facebook's servers or a problem specific to your connection to their service. You might try clearing your browser cache, disabling extensions, or testing a different network.
Thanks - its really slow on Safari as well which was a clean install, so I think it's something connected to the hub and/or internet connection. How do I test with a different network?
According to https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/facebook-down there was a massive outage earlier today which has now been resolved
Have you tried using a different device or if using the VM broadband then try connecting on a device using a sim card.
Works fine on every other device. It's just when I use this PC?

If the issues are only with one site (that you're aware of) and only when using one device then it would suggest that the issue isn't with the Virgin Media connection, but the device. Have you followed the earlier advice in regards to clearing the cache?
