Extender gives low speeds

Hi

wifi has been patchy at the back of my house. I have Ethernet in the kitchen at the back. I bought a TP link and plugged it in. It can do 300mbps. The hub 3 admin page listed the Ethernet connection as 100.

My iPhone gives me about 15mbps and my older iPad strangely gives about 35. None of these are anywhere near 100.

I don’t seem to have any way to modify or specify the Ethernet speed on the hub admin page.

what am I doing wrong here please?

TP Link is a brand not a single product.

We need a little more ...

    1) Which model number of TP Link product did you buy ?

    2) How have you configured it ?

  • The TP-Link device you purchased was probably cheap, meaning a 100Mbps ethernet port, hence the report in the HUB of '100'.

You need to look for devices with a gigabit ethernet port to prevent the limit of around 90Mbps at best with a 10/100 ethernet port.
