Connect App Won’t Connect

Since yesterday, my VM Connect app has stopped detecting my network. On the Broadband tab, it can’t find my router and keeps taking me through the install steps. As I haven’t done anything different to the router, there’s nothing more to be done and so I just keep getting brought back to the main page where it says it can’t detect the router.

I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but that doesn’t solve it. The Hub itself is working fine with no problems, it’s just the app. If you need to know, my app’s on an iPhone 16 Pro Max and my Hub is a Hub 5.

Or just delete the app, it’s not really needed.

  • Apple Relay is already off. I did try looking into whether my Norton 360 was interfering in any way, but it wasn’t. I really don’t want to lose the use of the app, as it’s a good way to monitor the devices which are connected (or not) to my home network. Like my parents phones sometimes aren’t connected but they don’t realise.

The same info is available at the VM Hub menu >>> Connected devices

    Via  http://192.168.0.1/
    Use the Hub password.

Settings to discourage mobiles from dropping Wi-Fi and reverting to the GSM mobile data.

    For iPhones...

    Disable "Wi-Fi Assist"    Ref:https://support.apple.com/en-us/102228

    For Android phones...

    Disable "Switch to mobile data"

    Settings >> Connections >> Wi-Fi >> ... ( 3 dot menu ) >> "Switch to mobile data"  ( set to OFF )

  • Thanks for all that. The weird thing is that the Hub menu link you shared isn’t working either. I just get a spinning “buffering/loading” symbol on a blank page. I may have to completely reset the Hub or something.

If you can not reach http://192.168.0.1/ the configuration of your device is the problem.

You must not be using Apple Relay, or a VPN or an Anti Virus app that contains a proxy.

Whatever prevents your access to http://192.168.0.1/ also prevents the Connect app from working.
