Cannot Remove Network Name

Hello

Benn having a raft of WiFi issues leading to a router (Hub 5) factory reset.

When I attempted to rename the network after the reset, the Applying Settings page (please wait 5mins) hung with no change & then the page crashed due to no internet connection.

VM Network Name was no longer available & new Network was visible but didn't work.

Reset again, VM back & working, tried to change the Network Name & the same as above again.

Now I cannot get rid of the changed Network Name from my WiFi list, even after a reset, so I'm now stuck in some bizarre world where I can use the VM network but I not the one I want to use (everything in my home is configured to a specific Network).

VM 'Technical' Support have been of no use at all, so checking here for any suggestions, if possible.

Thanks in advance.

Avoid changing the SSID of the VM Hub via Wi-Fi,  you laptop of mobile

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean.

Connect your laptop directly  the VM Hub via a network cable.
Avoid using the VM Hub menu over Wi-Fi.

Ah, ok. Thanks for clarifying, much appreciated.

Not an option unfortunately, I don't have the means to connect my laptop via ethernet

We have a pair of these USB 3 to Gigabit adaptors to enable our slimline laptops to connect to Ethernet.

These are handy for Hub management because they do not disconnect when a change are made to the Hub's WI-Fi settings plus they avoid the audio/video glitches that folks endlessly report when using MS Teams over Wi-Fi.

It’s always advisable to change any of the hubs settings from an Ethernet cabled device. There are very cheap adapters for portables and mobiles.

Indeed, and for the benefit of anyone reading this including the OP, the logic being that you are trying to change the way the WiFi works, while being attached via WiFi!

As you can see, the scope for something going sideways in the process, is quite high.

Also if you use the VM Pods, you will need to leave everything as "out of the box" otherwise the Pods will not work.  As for the Connect app, if you are changing anything on the Hub, note this app will try to reset it back to factory settings, so uninstall it from any devices.
