Broadband down till 23-JUL

Can any modmin tell me why, according to service status, it is estimated it will take until 23 July to fix an issue with Broadband in area 14 PC BD2 1LJ and what is the issue please, it seems to be affecting one of my CCTV cameras only?  I've not noticed any other issue.

  • Success! I had to put the NEST camera at the side of the router before it would pick up the wifi SSID. I previously tried with a hard connection using the USB port to the W11 desk top without success.  Even then I had to try twice. I was also able to connect it to a more distant TENDA extender more local to the site than the router. Very finicky but now it’s installed it’s stable and happy. So am I.

  • Is this related to the global issue currently affecting many users? The NEST camera was working until I removed it to make some local adjustments then when I tried to reinstall it I could not get it to recognise mine or any other wifi account to log it back in. All other cameras are fine.

Usual problem is needing to disable VM Hub's 5GHz Wi-Fi during the configuration of the NEST camera - the purpose of this is to force the mobile phone + NEST management app onto the same 2.4GHz band as the NEST camera.

Thanks, I’ll try that. Had a message about an hour ago to say problem fixed. Tried to re-connect Nest camera to no effect. Message said if  you are unable to connect any unconnected any problematic devices reboot Hub 5 and wait 30 minutes. But your suggestion is more likely to succeed and sound a better option. I’ll update this post as and when.

Trying that now, seems the HUB 5 is not happy with that, no wifi at all.

I think the HUB 5 settings needed adjusting as I was able to turn off 5Ghz eventually but it didn’t help. I think the problem is the NEST cameras are very finicky as I explain below. They’ve always been difficult to identify and connect at times as it’s a big property I cover but once connected remain stable esp now I’ve a HUB 5 which is by far the best router I’ve ever had.

  • This issue whatever it was was said to be resolved yesterday the 19th July 2024.
