Can anyone explain why Microsoft is sending some of my sent items to drafts, as being undeliverable? This even happens when replying to an e-mail.

I see that you have started two separate threads on what seems to be the same issue, To make it simple for everyone I have merged them into one thread.
I see that in one you mention "Microsoft", so does that mean that you are using MS Outlook or MS Mail? The other post does not mention Microsoft, so are you seeing the undeliverable problem in the VM webmail service as well as with Outlook?
As far as the Outlook email client is concerned that behaviour has been reported on and off for years with all email services not just VM emails, It seems to have appeared again with New Outlook. Here is an example from the MS Community Forum from a couple of months ago https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook_com/forum/all/emails-sent-on-the-new-outlook-application-are-saved-in-the drafts-folder-and-not-sent
I stopped using Outlook several years ago but I remember seeing a similar problem at one point. If I remember correctly, in my case resending the emails worked but the recipient then received two copies of the email!
That was one of the many reasons I switched to using Thunderbird as my mail client.

Hi Coenoby
Thanks for getting back to me, and apologies for not being very clear.
The mail is @blueyonder.co.uk, and the replies are from Windows. (I have old outlook as well which is working fine, but it is not my main account.)
I have tried to resend, but again it was sent to drafts.
The problem has only started recently, but I have had issues before, and any further help, would be much appreciated, thanks

Thank you again.
I'm glad it's not just me having problems with VM website, I don't feel so daft now!! It does make me wonder that a Company that supplies e-technology cannot even provide a working system fot their own customers!
I have looked to see how I can check the size of an e-mail including attachments, but it seems this is not straightforward at all. I'm sure I used to have no problem, perhaps they have reduced the size they want to allow to be sent, I hadn't realised it is like sending a parcel, priced by weight!!
I will keep trying, and will let you know how it is going.
Thanks again

It's very easy to calculate an approximate size of an email including attachments.
The size of an email with attachments will always be bigger than the size of the attached files themselves. That's because of the way files are encoded when sent as email attachments. It's the same for all email services not just VM emails.
As a rule of thumb you need to add an extra 40% onto the size of the documents themselves. In fact it might be a bit less than that but if you add 40% you are playing safe. (37% is the figure often quoted.)
As an example. a recent email that I received had a photo attached.
- The attached .jpg file itself was 3.8MB when I saved it on my laptop
- My email client shows the email and the attachment received was 5.2MB
Applying my add 40% rule gives 5.32MB - so in the right ballpark.
