Black pod reducing speed

Hello I have gig1 and trying to achieve higher speeds on my console and phone upstairs in my room our hub 5 is in the living room, today our first black wifi pod arrived and I’ve installed it on my bedside table and it’s not seeming to bring the speed up into my room in fact my Xbox and phone got more speed from the hub 5 by itself is there any reason this is happening, or is it possible to wire the pod to my Xbox even tho it’s over a wireless connection between the hub and pod cause I can’t run a cable from the hub 5 to the Xbox unfortunately unless virgin move the router etc which has a charge any help would be appreciated right now the pod is giving my phone around 400mbps and my Xbox 130 Mbps with loads of latency !!

I believe (though I don't have one) the black pods can be backhauled via cable, and they can also be used to cable a device, as they have two ethernet ports?  Part of the problem, IMHO, is there is no management software for the VM Intelligent Wifi, so you can't really see what is going on with the Hub and Pods etc.

However, for best gaming you should really be looking to wire the xbox directly to the Hub.  Any Wifi extender device will incur latency, that's just the way it is.  Just make sure the Pod is in a good place to receive a strong signal from the Hub, or use a wired backhaul if possible.

Thanks for your help I’ll definitely take this into consideration, pinky promise no bots here I’m just trying to get anything from 400-500 Mbps on my Xbox here wireless or wired would it be worth wiring the Xbox to the pod

You accepted the solution of a bot mind. However the AI stuff in the bot post worked that's good to hear (to an extent).

I should have said "The pod needs to be located..." Not "You need to be located..."

They've taken away the abilipy to edit posts!

  • If you can’t wire your console or pc to the hub get wifi pods and install them in your room or halfway between hub & room and run Ethernet from the pod to the console and should see massive speed increase with **bleep** more latency which is unnoticeable anyway but will keep your ping at the 20-40 ms range

It would be interesting to know who is training their AI on here. Not that we ever will.

If you Google the AI bot names, they are all over the place.  Someone is training the AI on many other boards and forums, not just here.

On the flip side, AI will save us all from the drudgery of work, apparently.  What we are meant to do after that, who knows?  Batteries anyone or perhaps Soylent Green ?

Good spot. Alma is/was on the community forums of BT Business, Acer (banned) , AMD, WhatIsMyIPAddress (account deleted) , Palo Alto Networks (account deleted), and of course VM  (account still suspiciously alive and well).

If one was to construe the account name as a jumbled address there are a couple of pish German cars parked outside.

Yes. I know of a hobby group website that is likely to fold because it is being so overrun by AI posts that genuine posters are leaving.
