Advice please. Need to connect existing cable internet connection to new computer

I have searched site and cant find info.

So after many years I am getting a new Windows computer.

Apart from loss of connection last year (eventually sorted) hub and computer connection all working.

But I realise I have no idea how to connect I new computer.

Do I just plug in the cable currently connected to my old computer into my new computer. Or ... ?

If there is a help page about this happy to try and follow but cant find anything on VM website.

Thanks

  • Generally, yes. For wired (Ethernet) devices you can simply unplug the Ethernet cable from your old computer and plug it into your new computer.

    Should work straight away.

For your wireless (Wi-Fi) devices you'll need your Wi-Fi password which is usually printed somewhere on your Hub.

    Many thanks for your reply.

I sort of assumed that, and I do have a wired connection.

Which is just as well as I have no idea what my wi-fi password is!

Unless you've made a change the WiFi SSID and password are on a label on the hub.

Thanks for that info about password.

I should have realised as I have used that to link a set top (tv) box to my hub!
