8 diget pin

Trying to find 8 diget pin on router but is not on base only setting number I can see is 192.168.0.1

  • Many thanks for your swift reply, I have looked very carefully and there is no 8 diget  code on the router base. My friend sent me a photo of his and you can clearly see his on the base.

If I can send you a picture perhaps you can see one

    Thanks

    Mike

How are you trying to connect to the VM hub, via wireless or with a cabled connection? I assume a Chromebook has no ethernet connection

No need to bother with trying that. Do you use any plug-in wireless powerline boosters in your home?

You can post back on here whenever you like. Someone will usually make a reply and try to help. I think I may be missing something obvious here and someone else may happen along to explain it with a better idea of what is going on.

        Very Insightful Person

Having scanned through this thread it looks as if Sully2 is trying to connect a device to their VM hub using an 8 digit WPS pin code.

There used to be an option in earlier VM hubs to generate a one time WPS pin but I can't see an option to do this with a Hub5.

Depending on what type of device the op is trying to connect there may be other options such as using the WPS button on the Hub5 or manually entering the Hub5 WiFi SSID and password.

You have been really helpful and thanks for taking the time it is very good of you, I will look at it but I do struggle with tech think]gs maybe look too deeply into it. Golf is off tomorrow so will study it then and let you know.

    Cheers

After re-reading the topic all the way through again, I'm not actually that clear on what it is that Sully2 is trying to do!

I had initially read the topic as the OP was trying to log into the admin settings of the Hub 5 but, after re-reading, it's not clear what the task at hand actually is!

On the older superhubs if 'Enable WPS' was checked I think you used to get an additional prompt on the hub login screen for the WPS PIN. The WPS PIN used to be on a sticker on the bottom of the superhub. A Chromebook (which was mentioned in the topic) can't use WPS it would seem from a Google search.

When you come back to this Sully2, please let us know exactly what is the actual task you are trying to do which is generating this 8 digit PIN prompt and what device are you seeing this on?
