The non-functionality of parental controls has dragged on for a very long time on here. It is likely to continue without resolution. From many past topics on here, the only thing 'pausing' a device via the VM app is likely to do is unintentionally block the device on the network until such time as a reset procedure is carried out.
If you want to impose restrictions, you are more likely to have success using your own networking equipment and/or the built in parental controls and family settings on mobile devices.

Thanks for the reply. Thats pretty appalling that it appears that it hasnt worked for a long time and nothing is being done about it.
This being the case I would rather switch back to sky than pay for a service that doesnt work. Is there any word on this frim anyone official at VM?
I did attempt live chat a while ago but the guy seemingly had no idea what I was talking about.

A VM person should reply here within 2 or 3 days normally but some recent replies are taking longer. In addition the forum is closing for a time to switch to a new forum provider so there may be a further delay until that is completed

This is likely to be because the current forum software is hopelessly bad too!
You could always try phoning in but don't get your hopes up for a speedy fix!

Hello mike2000uk,
Welcome to the Community, and thanks for taking the time to post here on the forums. I’m sorry to hear of the issues that you’re experiencing with the parental controls on your network.
I'd be happy to take a further look into this for you; however, I would need to confirm a few details via private message. Please look out for my message, and we can get started.
Kind Regards,

A common complaint is changes to the parental controls or list of blocked websites can not be saved, but that is not mentioned here.
For VM Parental controls to work, the VM Hub needs to be in Router mode and the devices need to be using the VM DNS supplied by the VM Hub
Plus no use of : VPNs, Apple Relay, WARP or a Public DNS on the device or the browser. - JJ_HomeUserJoining in
Same issue for me, it's a disgrace how this simply doesn't work. With BT it worked all the time. Absolute joke that they cannot fix it - maybe there's nothing to fix as they don;t even have that feature but just claim they do.

Yes I agree. Customer services clearly don't have a resolution.
With Sky all harmful websites were blocked by default. Which was fine even I couldnt block specific additional sites.
Seeing as Virgin Media are not providing the agreed to service then I assume we can cancel our contracts without penalty?
I'd happily return to Sky, switching to virgin was clearly a mistake.
