Mis-selling. Volt Bundle SIM with £25 DD charge

Just moved home. I thought I would change my Sky TV & broadband account of 25 years in exchange for the VM 1 Gig Volt bundle that includes Sky. I have been an O2 phone customer for many years so didn't need the SIM. Which was fortunate as it didn't arrive. Then I noticed a £25 DD charge from my bank account. This was never mentioned when I agreed the deal on the phone. I was told the TV Broadband and SIM were all in the bundle package for one price I had no use for another SIM. I tried for hours on several days to untangle the mess with VM and O2. They even said I had to get the bundle SIM form a store and then cancel my existing O2 account. I have had security checks galore and VM hung up on me and others talk nonsense. I eventually went to SIM only on my iphone and sent an official complaint to VM. I don't need or want the bundle SIM if it is an extra charge, I just want want the DD stopped. This I believe is a case of misselling. If I don't get the DD stopped and a refund for the unathourised debit I will try the Ombudsman and OFCOM.

"I was told the TV Broadband and SIM were all in the bundle package for one price" Check your VM bill. It’s offered as a "one price bundle" which actually means total price, part is paid to VM and part is to O2. When my mobile was changed to O2, I was charge by them for £x and my VM bill dropped by £x.

  • Hi garrywalton

Thanks for posting and welcome to the community. Sorry to hear of this. If you have an existing O2 SIM pre-joining the Virgin Media cable side, then you should have been offered the chance to move your existing SIM to the Volt deal that comes with the Mega Volt Deal (the £25 deal mentioned in the title). I'll send you a PM now to assist further.
