Mega volt Bundle

Good afternoon,

I have just renewed my virgin media contract to the Mega bolt bundle, new 18 months contract, and have seen a drop in my broadband speed from 1 gig to m500, my previous contract includes 02 sim, on the new  pre contract the mobile oomph is missing from the contract, I phoned customer services and the O2 sim was added to my account using my existing phone number, as Per my previous contract included 1gig broadband. Can you please check my account as I am unsure what speed I should be receiving.

  • Hi bays281,

Thanks for taking the time to contact us via the Community. It's lovely having you on board with us in the Forums. ⭐

We're sorry to hear your speed has been altered. When looking at your pre-contract documents, if this shows the speed as being Volt 500 then this would be your new speed on the new contract. If your account was already boosted previously, then you would still be on a Volt speed so you wouldn't get a further boost back up to 1GB.

Any new contracts do come with a 14 days cooling off period so it may be worth asking the team to revert you back to what you had. We're not able to do this via the Community. You can reach the team on 150 / 0345 454 1111. Once that's been done, we can then discuss a new offer for the 1GB speed instead.

    Many thanks,

  • Good afternoon, thank you for your reply, as I am a volt mega bundle customer and a 02 sim holder registered to the same address, does this not qualify for a speed update to the faster broadband speed of 1 gb, from 500 meg,  my previous contract was upgraded, so this is causing some confusion, please can you clarify. Your advert for the mega bundle does state the broadband speed of 1gb speed.

      Hi again bays281,

A Volt upgrade can only be done once. Once your account is moved to Volt, you wouldn't be able to get another upgrade on a new speed. This is because the speed will already be boosted.

If you were previously on an M500 speed, when boosted by Volt, you would have gone up to Volt 1GB.

If you're currently on Volt 500 broadband, this is the equivalent of M350 pricing and the speed is boosted to Volt 500. Therefore you wouldn't get a further boost up to 1GB.

      Many thanks,
