Evening ,I’ve just noticed the new mega pack too does this mean this will replace the maxit pack as Virgin will be charging for TNT sports now ? Just curious as my contract is coming up for renewal😊 and will keep the maxit if it includes tnt as standard

I think TNT is £8 extra now on Mega bundle?

Any existing Maxit customers can stay on that, but any package amendments or re-negotiations will trigger a change to the Mega tier instead.

I'm also notified I'm out of contract.  I'm also on Maxit but the small amount of information on renewal also mentions Mega TV as well as a 50% bill increase.

Why does Virgin Media depend on VIP to do their information distribution rather than a sensible website for existing customers.

The other interesting thing if I dig deep enough on chat, is that the wait for the necessary phone call with customer services was 31 min.

  • Yes, a 50% increase in the bundle monthly cost from contract end.

Ihave not been able to spend over 30 min waiting to talk to an agent.

      Hi pdfbt40

Thanks for coming back to the thread.

Please either give the team a call on 150 / 0345 454 1111 or message via Whatsapp on +447305 327 112 and we can review your pricing.

      Best wishes.

  • After a 27 minute wait I got through to an agent.

Even allowing for 'Back Friday' offers, why can't simple renewals just be handled in an interactive sessions.
Or having enough staff available to cut waits to say 5 min max.

Anyway, as I though, I'd actually been out of contract for nearly, and on a deal neither the agent or the supervisor new existed!

So rather than a 50% increase to move from Maxit to Mega, I stayed with the same 30 day rolling bundle !!

  • I would also like a list of what channels are in each package (rather than a code name)
Side by side in columns so a person can compare them.

Are VM making it hard on purpose ???

DMonVM  Look at the link to the channel guide in the second post of this thread.

  • I have looked at it already.
It does not provide what I asked for.
Channels in package (e.g. Mega TV 3) to compare packages.

As per previous posts in this thread, Mega TV has replaced Maxit TV - the only difference is the removal of inclusive TNT Sports.

    They are otherwise identical.

Hey Fatfreddy, thank you for reaching out and I can confirm TNT sports is now an extra fee per month sorry.

  • If there is a change between the two its changed not identical !!!

The problem is Virgin Media has changed packages for years, but still has 5 legacy packages and has to present them a complex single PDF.
Then there are Personal Picks as well!!

Its a dreadful mess and needs a complete overhaul.  Preferably with an editable/searchable download. so a savie user can remove extraneous info

  • I found this thread after googling what the differences between Maxit and Mega TV 3 are during a live chat with VM.

They just said I won't get any less channels, only more. I asked which ones are extra they sent me a link to channel list: https://www.virginmedia.com/virgin-tv-edit/tips-and-tricks/virgin-tv-channel-guide

When I asked what is MegaTV3 on this... is it 3-FullHouse, they said it isn't. MegaTV3 isn't listed on this, so really helpful.

They insisted that I will only get more channels so I said OK. Then they randomly said I wouldn't get BT Sport any longer, that's now a separate add-on. Oh so I will get less? They are so utterly confusing. I still can't see what is extra but have just given up trying to find this.

Anyways then after agreeing a new package for 18 months they processed it as I was reviewing the PDF contact, in which I noticed a price increase after 6 months that they didn't mention!

That's now a second renewal in a row where say one thing in chat and the final contract is something different, where you can only find out the correct details/cost afterwards.

Thanks, as I suspected, it's not got extra channels (as they promised), but slightly less. It's as if customer service don't know what they are talking about!

      Hi waldopepper,

In addition to the above BTSport became TNT Sports and is currently an £18 a month upgrade, I have seen this figure fluctuate so you might be able to negotiate a deal.

Holy hell, just a general rant now. After being on chat for FOUR HOURS, the second agent said they can't honour what the first one said so I guess the price was increasing. They passed me to another team and they said disregard the contract email! my price won't be increasing, but take their word for it. I still didn't have anything in writing to show what my new package/payments are so I had to ask them twice to email me this which they finally agreed to. I'm so done with Virgin Media customer service. Why does it take so long and become so complicated for very basic things? Rant over.
