Is it limited to just programs on the Sky Sports channels?

"It's also why it's ideally better to speak to faults while you have the issue and hopefully the symptoms are evident - them being closed certainly doesn't help."
Sure, tomorrow it will all be hunky dory and then next Sunday when I am watching Arsenal v Manchester United, no doubt it will all go wrong again. I am not sure merging the posts (whoever does it) helps as my previous experience is old issues get ignored and now my latest issue is deep in the thread. I also put links to the thread in my complaint which have been removed. I wanted to watch the Ashes final day and it failed. Today it failed again, though luckily I was able to watch on SD. Well, I say luckily, but I paid for HD, that did not work. I want my money back.

"As an example, you've cited Sky Cricket/Hundred HD. Check the following other channels which are on the same TX (depending on your package) - Sky Adventure HD, Sky Comedy HD, Cartoon Network HD, Eurosport 2HD, TLC-HD, Sony TV-HD, Quest-HD"
Sky Comedy hd is fine
Eurosport 2 hd/quest hd/tlc hd also bad
Dont have Sky adventure nor Cartoon Network. Can’t find Sony tv.

Sony TV-HD is the Sony Entertainment Channel on 805 and is part of the Asian Mela pack, so it's unlikely you have that channel.
With Eurosport 2HD, Quest HD and TLC HD also having problems it indicates that it is a signal issue as they are all on the same mux as indicated by japitts.
If yourself and other local VM customers have reported the problem to VM then it will probably be listed when calling Automated Service Status number on 0800 561 0061. This service often gives details of more local issues down to postcode level. The online service checker is more for wider scale outages rather than localised isses.
If it's not listed on the Automated Service Status number then the issue is either specific to your address, or hasn't been picked because it hasn't been reported by others at your postcode level.
The first thing to check is all of your cabling, if it isn't snug and tight and free from kinks then this can cause pixelation.
The back of my TV is full of cabling which would do credit to spaghetti junction, it's that bad at times. If I ever have issues with pixelation I remove all this cabling from their sources and respective boxes, even the HDMI cables, and especially the white VM coaxial cabling, tidy them all up and then reinsert them again (tidily) this usually resolves my pixelation problems. If the white VM cable is even slightly lose it can casue the pixelation problems, especially the part that's connected by a splitter from the hub as that often works loose ( usually due to SWMBO hoovering and tugging at cabling)
If that doesn't solve the issue then it's probably an external cabling or signal issue which will require visit from VM tech.

Every time I make a change there is an issue. I add BT Sport on a £10 offer, I get charged £18. I add Sky Sports on a 40% off offer, I get charged full whack. https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Managing-Your-Account-Cable/Big-deals-how-long-before-they-are-...
I add Sky Sports HD. I get charged correctly but it doesn’t work.
Never had this nonsense with Now TV. If I get an sports offer for £14.99, I pay £14.99. I don’t have to contact anyone it gets done. If I add boost for HD, it gets done. And it always works. Especially when live sport is on.Most important, I don’t have to troubleshoot the issue nor spend ages on the phone with faults or customer service to rectify the issue.

Automatic compensation applies to broadband and landline, not to TV.

Hi there arrgee1991,
Thanks for your post and welcome back to the community.
Sorry to see you're experiencing adverse pixelation on your channels, can I ask is this just on the Sky channels?
Regards,

@Sabrina_B
Started pixelating again, so I moved the hub (v3) and it started working. And when it started pixelating again, picked up the hub and put it down very firmly and it cured the issue. Does the hub need replacing?

Hi arrgee1991
It might possibly be the coaxial cable going into the hub, or where the splitter joins that needs tightening, or freeing from any kinks/bends

Hi arrgee1991, we're sorry to hear the problem has reoccurred.
Can you please confirm you've tried following the advice provided by newapollo?
If still no further forward thereafter, we'll investigate this for you further.

I have checked the cables. Undone them and removed all kinks and screwed them back in and at the moment all seems well.

It's entirely possible that your signal levels on the affected muxes are borderline and varying between acceptable and out-of-spec as weather conditions alter. While VM's cables aren't directly affected by weather, water ingress and/or heat in the street cabs can make a difference.
