I'm using the YouTube app on the V6 to watch a very long (5+ hours) video, but I want to fast forward to near the end. Pressing either of the >> or > buttons on the round parts on the remote fast forwards but only by 10 seconds at a time and it takes forever to get to the part I want to see. Is there a faster way of doing this?
Short answer is no. The app has very basic functionality (the same goes for the version installed on Smart TVs). They simply don't have enough built-in memory to do any more than they do. Your best bet is to run the video on a phone or tablet running its own YouTube app, & then use the casting facility to view through the app on your V6. You can then use the better controls on your device app to navigate.
Or if you're using the same YouTube login on a mobile device or laptop as you are on your V6.. then use said mobile device to find the right spot in the video and then exit the video.
Load the history on the V6 app and the most recent video should be (more-or-less) where you left it.
