Green screen message on tv box

Hello

I have a v6 box in my room, and last night a green screen come on all of a sudden. The message said:

"The DVR has dected a serious problem and now is attempting to fix it. This will take around three hours. Please do not un plug or restart the DVR!"

It's been nearly 24 hours now. The box just keeps restarting every 3/4 mins says "starting up" then the green screen comes back on. This just keeps doing this repeatedly!

    The, "the DVR has detected a serious problem and is trying to fix it; do not switch off for 3 hours”. message is commonly known as the green screen of death. It means that your hard drive has failed. It's not very often that the box is able to recover from this, and if by some miracle it does, then it's only a  matter of time before it fails completely.

    You should call 150 from a Vm landline or  0345 454 1111  from any other phone and select option 2 (faults).

    Or wait a day or two and a member of the Forum Team should pick this up for you and arrange a tech visit.

  • Does anyone have a number you can contact virgin media on and actually talk to someone? I had a appointment today for the engineer to Come out. I missed a phone call from virgin. But can't understand the message at all. I can't get in contact with a human to ask what it was about! It's all automated. 

    Or can one of the virgin media staff on here see what the call was about? Or of the engineer is still booked today.

  • Oh its OK, the engineer came did end up coming as planned. Not sure why I got a call from virgin though.
