Annoying message on screen

I don't know if this is a Virgin thing or if it's coming from something else, but in the last couple of days this message keeps popping up on my screen -

"You can view a variety of related products while watching the programme. Select the button to check now."

and there's a View More button, but I don't want to click this unless I know what it's going to do.

Anyone know how I can stop this appearing?

    I remember seeing this a few years ago on my LG TV and was able to turn it off. I'll check the settings this afternoon and let you know what to look for.

    It was on ITV (is that the channel you have noticed it on too?) as they launched a shopping service with LG that links to things that appear on screen.

    I am getting the same messages and if you click on the View More button you get access to adverts. It started two days ago.

    I didn't think it was anything to do with Virgin as I dont have Virgin TV but I do have Virgin broadband.

    I assumed it was something to do with my TV which is an LG Smart TV but haven't been able to find out anything yet. My TV is connected to Virgin Broadband however.

    If I find out anything I'll post back here.

        In actual fact on two occasions I was watching recorded programs on ITV and on BBC!

    Thanks for this! I have an LG C2 and these annoying messages have been popping up since a software update last week. 
    Turning off Live Plus as per an earlier post in this thread seems to have done the trick.
