Faulty v6 box

Still having problems with v6 box , pixellations and colours keep flashing up , reported twice but getting robbed of with excuses , and they say reboot the machine , done that several times but no joy . How can I book an engineer without going through the minefield that is VM website , go on that and you just go round in circles . When I did run a test on it it came up as an issue with the box but they still won't send out an engineer . Can anyone help ,

  • Does anyone have any idea how to get a technician  booked to get my v6 box looked at , I am paying good money for a service that I can't enjoy because the picture keeps breaking up and flashes of colour across the screen . This is about 5 weeks now , I get the run around when I phone up and get the call centre . They are not interested in fixing the problem , all I ask is they send out a technician but all they can suggest is rebooting the box , can anyone help with booking a technician.

Is this picture problem affecting all sources? Or just, say... live TV? OnDemand? Recordings?

The fault could be different depending on the answer. You're right to suggest that a single reboot is often a good fix, but multiple reboots are just hiding an underlying problem.

The problem appears when I first turn on the tv , the it goes away but comes back again in the afternoon and it is like that for the rest of the evening , the picture pixellates every now and again , but main problem is the broad flashes of colour , jumps between green , red and sometimes purple , mostly grèen and red and it happens on every channel and playing back recordings .

  • Hey im1959,

Welcome back to the community and thanks for taking the time to post. I’m sorry to hear of the issues that you’re having with your V6 box at the moment.

Does this issue happen, if you're using another source or any apps on your TV or is this just a problem with your V6 box?

Have you tried to use a different HDMI cable and HDMI port, to see if that helps to resolve the issues?

    Kind Regards,

I have rebooted several times and the HDMI cables are all new cables , to be honest , it might even be the tv itself , I am getting a new tv on Wednesday and they will tune everything in for me so I will see then it the box is faulty or if it was just the tv , I will keep you posted . Cheers

Hi  Steven,  have not tried different HDMI cables but I am getting a new tv installed today and have brand new HDMI cables so I am hoping that solves the problem . The problem only seems to be when I first put the tv on and the fault lasts for about 5 minutes then it clears but then it comes back in the evening .
