Channel 525 sound

There is constant wittering on the sound for TNT Ultimate, which is making it unwatchable. Is anyone else having this? All other channels are OK, so I suspect it's the HDR that may be causing the interference.

  • Same here on Merseyside.I just pressed the pause button on my V6 remote.......problem solved!

The channel is not producing a wittering sound for me (I'm on the Hayes headend). This seems like a box decoder problem and setting audio to PCM for this channel may solve the problem.

  • The sound was fine until a few days ago.  It started breaking up while I was watching the Community Shield match and it's been the same ever since. I haven't changed any settings on my TV or the box.

Virgin's UHD channel has routinely broadcast in Atmos with fallback to DD for some events. Have you not wondered why the regular HD channel on 521 is broadcasting now with a DD audio track and the UHD channel is outputting 2-channel PCM?  There's a problem.

No sound problems here in Teesside on my TV360.

Have you used the /check-services/ function to check for problems in your area? You can also a run a test on your equipment from there.  If nothing is showing  you could also try the automated Service Status number  0800 561 0061.  This often gives details of more local issues down to postcode level.

Check all VM cabling and also HDMI cabling.

The picture is 2160p HLG HDR BT.2020, and sound is PCM

Have you tried changing the V6 sound settings?

    Home > Help & Settings > Settings > Audio >

If your TV is not set up to work with Dolby output, select Dolby Digital, then choose Dolby Digital to PCM. Press OK on the Virgin TV remote to confirm your selection and see if that improves the sound.
