V6 boxes belong to Virginmedia. They cannot be bought and sold and will not work if you do.

VM is a closed system, so the boxes are rented & should be returned at the end of the contract. You would do well to ignore any that are being “sold” on websites, as these people are scammers. These are either stolen goods that have not been returned, or obsolete/faulty boxes that VM has asked customers to dispose of in recycling. In either case VM removes the serial numbers from the system so that they cannot be re-activated. If you buy one of these all you are buying a very expensive door stop, & giving the seller your hard earned cash for something that will never work. Don’t bother.

If you're in one of the newer XGS-PON network areas, then streaming is the only TV service VM offer.
If you're in one of the traditional HFC areas, then V6 & TV360 remain fully supported - new customers get TV360, but recording boxes are only available reactively and at £50 cost.
