I've recently responded to a message to upgrade my set top box to a 360.l, which I received yesterday. Before I start what I feel will be a stressful process can anyone tell me if I can actually upgrade from a Tivo box v4? I also have a second box.

Once the upgrade has started you can’t turn back. If you have a V6 it’s just a software update for the boxes. If it’s the older TiVo, then it will be replaced by a new 360 box. As you have 2 boxes you may end up with a 360 Master and a 360 mini ( no hard drive)
Thank you for the reply. I didn't want to start something before I was sure. The parcel does contain both a master and a mini. Fingers crossed this goes smoothly
The next question is as I'm being charged for two old tivo boxes, should I order another master and mini set via my other box...
You cannot order another “master” box. The 2 box scenario is a temporary perk if you are initially migrating 2 V6 boxes to Horizon V360. You are paying for access on 2 TVs, the recordings are centralised.
Horizon is a completely different TV platform to TiVO, & is server driven. The server backend was developed for cloud recording, so as a result, even if you had 2 master boxes you would still only see one combined list of recordings for both boxes.
