Watching a recording whilst program is still on

I really do not like this 360 upgrade and the latest annoyance is that it doesn’t appear to let you start watching a recording if the program is still on.
Is there a way to do this?

    I'm currently recording At the Wheeltappers on Talking Pictures TV which started at 21:10.

    I went to Recordings and clicked on the program. A screen appeared with three options:- Watch, Stop Recording, and Episodes.

    I chose Watch and another screen appeared giving two options :- Watch from start, and Watch Live

    Both options worked.

    EDIT - It's actually a Cannon and Ball Special.

    As an aside I can do this on my old Humax Freeview recorder.

    When you select the relevant recording , you'll see the watch option and when pressed you'll be given the option to watch from start or watch live.
