Virgin Box Behind TV

Hi, I'm not sure what category this should go under.

I'm designing a wall for a renovation and all equipment will be going into a recess behind the TV.

Looking online this seems to be possible but is there anything I need to bear in mind when doing this?

I'll obviously need a coax port (and likely an ethernet port) in the recess.

Thanks

The coax feed to the Hub will need to be fitted by a VM technician.

If the Hub is hidden behind the TV, its WiFi signal will be badly screened. You'll need to fit your own WiFi access point in a more open location if you want to cover more than one room.

You'll need to leave space to access the Hub when resetting is required.

Don’t forget the power supply which uses a "brick".

You also might have a ventilation issue. The boxes, especially V360 boxes will overheat in a confined space.

Thanks for posting in regards to your upcoming renovations and to ask in regards to your equipment and possible impacts.

As the forum members have advised, although it will likely look very nice it will have some impacts on the wireless network in your property due to it being behind a TV. This can be alleviated depending on your set up (if you use a mesh system or 3rd party router for your Wi-Fi) Other factors are also the cabling and power supply to the Hub.

We can arrange a visit for the cabling to be put in place and the Hub moved if needed, just let us know and we can drop you a Private message to make the necessary arrangement, as it is a non fault call out there is a standard charge of £25 for the visit which is worth bearing in mind.
