V6 box (with 360 software) failing. Can I get another?

My trusty V6 box hard drive is failing. It is losing recordings and series links, and it is also randomly logging out of all the apps. I like to be able to record shows and skip adverts.  If I report the faulty box to Virgin will I still be able to get a V6 or TV360 recording box, or will I be limited to streaming box only?

  • If you haven't "updated" to 360 you should be able to get a replacement V6 TiVo box.

    Edited to say if you want to stay with a V6 TiVo box make sure you tell them when you report the fault because they might try to "up" you to 360.

    If you have firmware migrated to the 360 Horizon platform you now have a V360 box, not a V6 (V6 is TiVO platform). Faulty boxes are changed like for like, so you will get another V360 box.

    There's no such thing as a "V6 box (with 360 software)". V6 refers to the box running TiVo-software. TV360 refers to the box running Horizon-software, which is fundamentally not TiVo.

    I've moved your post to the TV360 section of the forum.

    V6 are replaced with V6, TV360 are replaced with TV360.

  • Thanks all. I have an Arris box running 5.20 TV360.

    As long as I can  still get a recording  box I will call in the fault.
