Upgrade from TiVo regret

Went for the switch up, what a disaster.

Simplink and CEC on my LG remote can no longer control the STB. There's no option to pair an additional remote in the menus so my Sofabaton remote is off the cards.

What a mess!

I doubt anyone has a solution as hours of searching solutions yields no working result, but I'm asking anyway.

My contract is up in January and now FTTP is available in my area there's no reason to remain with VM and this disastrous STB.

  • The new TV Platform (Horizon) is the property of VMs parent company (Liberty Global, a Europe wide cable operator). It was developed in the Netherlands for the Ziggo cable group initially, so look for codes labelled Ziggo or Ziggo Media for operating from a universal remote.

    Hi keasy

If you have enabled 'One Power' in the 360 settings (System > One Power) then the red power button enables you turn on connected devices at the same time as the 360 box providing they are compatable and connected using an HDMI cable.  Therefore if you have Simplink (HDMI- CEC) enabled on your LG TV then your LG Smart remote should be able to control the 360 box.

You might find that your LGTV doesn't recognise Virgin Media as the device and that is preventing the LG Smart Control working the 360 box.  If that's the case then try and set it up again, but instead of choosing Virgin use the magic remote to move the on screen cursor and place it in the Search box then click OK and type in Ziggo and press Enter.  Some TV's need Ziggo Mediabox Next, but the three LG's I have all recognise Ziggo.  ( Ziggo is the name used in Holland by Liberty Global (VM's owners)

If/when it's set up correctly then you can use the LG Smart remotes AD/SAP (three dots ...) button for additional options on the 360 box such as Power, Menu, and Guide.

Also see <this post> which may help with the  Sofabaton remote

EDIT I forgot to add you can use the VM TVGo (available for android and ios devices) app as an additional remote.
