Two Remotes on Virgin 360 box.

Hi, I've recently upgraded to a 360 box from a TiVo box.

We used to use two remotes on the TiVo box and I can't believe that this isn't possible on the 360. How on earth is this an ungrade?.

I've seen posts from a couple of years ago, where there were complaints about this, why has this 'oversight' not been remedied in any upgrade?

More to the point is it likely to be fixed?

Very disappointing.

Does anyone have any solutions for this?

Paul

  • You can use 2 remotes just not 2 Virgin remotes, the one for all just seems to be a popular choice to use along with the 360 remote, available from Currys or you can use the TVGO app or some TV's smart remote. You just need to pair them using Ziggo MediaBox Next because that is also the name the 360 box is known as elsewhere.

  • You can only pair one Virgin remote to a 360 box because it uses RF, you can however for example buy a OneForAll URC7125 remote and use that setting it up using Ziggo as the manufacturer.

You can also use the TVGO app and if your TV has a Smart remote you might be able to pair that to the 360, my LG Magic remote is paired using Ziggo Set-top box, depending on your TV you might need Ziggo Mediabox Next.

Many thanks for the reply, but I'm afraid it's a bit too technical for me.

I don't even understand why RF is restricted to only one remote.

I did just assume that I would be able to use two remotes.

It just seems very restrictive and a backward step to me. Who'd have thought an old TiVo box was better.

      Shame it broke.

I use a One4All with my V6, not the same software as TV360 but the principle is the same. OFA have a learning mode, enabling proprietry keys to be taught to the replacement remote - which generally works well.
