TV 360 upgrade
I had a faulty V6 and was sent a 360. After reading the horror stories about the 360, I phoned VM and was told I could not have a replacement V6. So I did not 'self install' and continued using the faulty V6 until I was 'upgraded' against my wishes despite asking them not to in my calls.
So I had no TV service. I called VM and asked them to cancel the 'upgrade' and was told this was not possible. VM said I needed to self-install the 'upgrade' or I would not get back my TV services. So I reluctantly installed the new software.
The 360 is a massive downgrade on the V6/Tivo. It's abysmal, the EPG and onscreen info, remote control, accessing recorded programmes is a massive downgrade on the V6 software, and you can't now record the radio since the stations are now accessed through a clunky app.
This is the reply I got from VM after complaining about being forced to downgrade to the 360 software...
"We would like to inform you that the TV360 box is an upgraded version of the setup box, which has new exciting features.
We confirm that we have not removed any features from the V6 box; instead, we have only added new features.
The new features that are included in the TV 360 box are (Enhanced) Go App, Shared Pause Point, Startover, Personal Profiles, Voice Search, Voice Control, Modern, Intuitive UI.
We can understand that the new user interface could take some time to get used to as it is an entirely new product. But we assure you that all these changes were made to elevate your viewing experience.
We will not be able to confirm that we can provide you a new V6 box. However, we assure you that you will not be facing any issues with the new TV360 box, as it includes all the features of the V6 box and many new ones."
The reply is full of factual errors, as clearly many features have been removed, after 4 hours on the phone to VM I eventually got a 50% reduction in the price of my TV/Broadband package to compensate for the downgrade to the 360.
