Series link and recording being lost or suspended

When a program is still recording and I decide to use the watch from start option it seems that the recording disappears from the list of recordings and I cannot watch it after the recording has ended.

It also disappears from planned recordings and needs restarting. 

Is that supposed to happen?

I also have to restart planned recordings that mysteriously get cancelled or suspended. 

What could cause that?
