Remote no longer listens to voice commands

Not a major issue, but I like the feature for convenience, but suddenly the remote no longer listens to voice commands.

When I press and hold the mic button, I just get a message on screen that says 'press and hold the mic button....' I've restarted the box and changed batteries in the remote but no change. Do I need a new remote? It's only about 3 months old.

  • Hi also having the same issue with both our remotes since this morning, changed batteries and paired remotes again but still not working.

    Yep same issue on 3 separate boxes (main and two minis) so must be a Virgin fault.

    Holding down the button as normal just comes up with the prompts "When you let go of the (microphone symbol) button, the system stops listening." and also "So the Virgin TV box can hear you, please hold the (microphone symbol) then talk"

      I wonder if the issue is specific to the make of box, or the actual geographical location.

      I'm based in Teesside and have no problems with voice control on either of my 360 boxes. 

      They are both Arris boxes that were upgraded to the 360 platform, they are currently running Software Version DCX960_-MON-PRD-02.04-220-AG-AL-20250806190000-NA004

      Application Version: 41_2025082
      Build Version 5.21 (Mine was updated on Sept 25th)

        No issues with mine (Belfast).  Also software updated boxes (TiVo prior to 2022)

  • Same issue as above. Area 20 - v6 box upgraded to TV360. After pressing mic button, screen icon appears and immediately changes from black mic/white backround to the opposite (white mic/black bg), indicating that no audio input can be received or processed.

  • Yes it seems like it's working again, just a glitch then. 

  • I have the same problem and the media box is getting slower and slower to respond to anything such as opening recordings etc. 
    What is solution please. Done usual reset and turn off/on etc.

      Can you confirm which set top box you have? We have help here for remote control issues. If you are on TV360 there is some help here.
