What region is Edinburgh. I appear to be 09 but get Glasgow adverts rather than Edinburgh which I would prefer

The area codes on your bills are for billing purposes & are related to cable companies that have been taken over by Virgin over the last 40 odd years. They have no bearing on the programmes you receive. The region you get is dependent on the local cable headend you are downstream of, & cannot be changed.
The Edinburgh local news is broadcast from the South Gyle headend which serves most of eastern Scotland. I think there's another headend in Renfrew which serves western Scotland including Glasgow.
