Moving TV and box to the other side of the room

Hi all,

About to start the process of redecorating and we've decided we'd like to move the TV from one side of the room to the other. The TV and 360 box are currently located on an exterior wall a few feet from the Virgin Media entrance point. The plan is to move them so they're against an internal wall, meaning adding a new, closer entrance point isn't possible.

I know Virgin Media engineers can come out and install a longer cable to facilitate for £25, but will they also be able to ensure the cables are routed neatly and correctly? The room is quite long and I do not believe running the cables under the floor is possible, so it will require routing around various door frames etc. Also, will the distance between the entrance point potentially degrade signal quality?

Thanks,

If you stay with the technician, they should be able to route the cables to your preferable route.  However, as the cable is co-ax there is a minimum bending radius and there will be areas that can't have the cable as flat as you might like, e.g. over the corners of architrave.

The distance shouldn't be an issue, but just request the technician to check the power levels before leaving.
