Moving House

Hi, has anyone else had issues with the time taken to reconnect services once you’ve moved house or somehow found anyway to get this sorted quickly?!

I complete on my house tomorrow (14th August) but Virgin will leave me with any internet or TV until the 27th August.

My dad undergoes chemotherapy every Monday and stays with me through Tuesday. My kids are off school for the summer holidays. And I can’t do my job. It’s not just inconvenient it’s completely disruptive.

If I were on my own, I’d manage as I’d head to the office, find somewhere to watch TV, make it work. But when I’m caring for my dad and two children, this situation becomes impossible. Virgin has turned a simple reconnection into a major hardship. Bloody fantastic.

Moving house is usually a "lift and shift".  The contract stays exactly the same, and the Mods here can assist if it all goes wrong.  As for time, you normally, as mentioned, take your kit with you and reconnect it at the new house.  As for speeding this up, I've no idea. If you have a old phone around, perhaps a 30 day data SIM for tethering will tide you over?

Is there an existing connection at the new house? If not there could well be a long wait for the outside work to be done.
