Instructions to upgrade from V6 to 360 Box are confusing

Just accepted the upgrade from V6 to 360 and awaiting the new remote to arrive and start the process.

Looking at the instructions on the web site, there seem to be four options.

The instructions for 1 are simple and I assume that is all I need to do. But at the end it says

What's that about. I don't have a Mini Box and don't think I will be sent one as part of the upgrade. Don't even think I would want this as I only watch TV in one room.

Can I just ignore those instructions at the end of section one?

  • Yes, that is only relevant if you have an older TiVo box as a second box, which will be switched for a 360 box as it can't be converted (upgraded is not the correct term, as the 360 is missing a considerable number of features compared to the V6 and is a massive step down as a PVR).

If you only have one box, you can safely ignore instructions for additional multiroom boxes.

  • Thanks for the answers. Yes I ignored the Mini Box instructions and it all went OK. There was a minor glitch when it said it failed to upgrade the box to 360, please try again later. I rebooted and it then started with a different screen and said it was doing an update. Then it seemed to have converted to 360 OK.

I am getting used to the 360 Box now and really like the voice control feature. Don't really miss too much from the old V6.
