Error CS2200

I am getting this error message when I try and watch back recordings.  I have had several issues since upgrading to the new 360.  Recordings have been deleted, the CS2200 error code, recordings stopping before programs finished.  I have done all the re booting and suggestions on the forum.  For what I am paying this is not acceptable.  Do I need a new box?

CS2200 is a known error which usually affects recordings and not live TV or catch up.  If you do have this error then does this affect all recordings or just certain ones? If just certain ones are there any specific programs or specific channels?

Do you have any problems stopping and pausing live programs, and then playing them back? If so, this would seem to indicate a hard drive problem, as pausing and playing back live TV is the same as recording a program.

You say you've "done all the re booting and suggestions on the forum".  Did these suggestions include a factory reset? If so which factory reset method did you perform?

        Hi again michaelh40

You didn't answer the question, "Do you have any problems stopping and pausing live programs, and then playing them back?" (This helps determine if it is indeed a hard drive problem)

To factory reset go to Settings (the cog at the end of the Home menu) > System > Factory Reset. It's actually misnamed and only a partial system reset and not a complete factory reset. You are given 2 options
        Keep Recordings
        Format Disk
Select Keep Recordings, which means you won't lose your recordings, and any planned recordings, or series links you've set up. You may have to sign into your apps such as iPlayer, Prime, Netflix and ITVX again.

If you still have issues losing recording then try again bit select the second option Format Disk, however this will remove all recordings, planned recordings and series links.

  • Have done all the factory resets and I am still getting error message on playback, recordings are freezing.  The upgrade is defo not worth it especially for what I am paying, once my contract ends I will be switching providers.

I am still having issues with this, i now cannot playback any recordings that i have made, after doing all the re boots this is still a problem.  The upgrade has turned out to definitely not be worth it, nothing but problems with it.  I will be looking at changing providers as the cost is now not worth it.

  • If the 360 box has deleted your recordings and planned recordings it's a sign that the box is faulty and needs replacing. If you also have problems pausing and rewinding live TV then that's another indication that the box is faulty.

Have you tried calling Virgin on 150 from a Virgin phone, mobile or landline, or 0345 454 1111 from any other phone to report a fault, or the other option is to wait here for one of the forum team to pick this up which might be 2 to 3 day's.
