Can't change volume on TV with Virgin 360 remote

I've tried the key test on settings. Nothing happens when I press mute. I've tried resetting and repairing using the TV+0 and TV +<<< combinations. I've tried turning off and back on at mains. It's paired to the correct TV. I get a notification saying I should now be able to control volume with my virgin remote, and yet I can't. Any ideas? I've looked through most of the related threads on here, and haven't found anything that has worked.

Thanks

Vestel did the trick! Key test worked first time after changing to Vestel. Thanks for all your help

Is the volume directly through the TV or are you using a speaker or soundbar?

Put the box into 'Pairing Mode' by pressing the Standby/On button on the front of the 360 box for 10 seconds.  Then using the remote control, press and hold the 'Live TV' button (the one on the right hand side directly below the red power/standby button) and the '0' button together for 10/15 seconds. And fingers crossed hopefully a  message should appear on the screen confirming that pairing was successful.

Which actual model of TV box do you have?

For example Samsung QE50QEF1AU  or LG 43QNED80A6A

Also using the 360 remote go to Settings > System > One Power and set that to ON.   Then on your actual TV make sure that HDMI-CEC is turned on. (Some TV's have different naming conventions for HDMI-CEC.) For example LG TV's call it SIMPLINK. Philips TV's call it EasyLink. Samsung TV's call it Anynet+, Sharp TV's call it AQUOS, Sony's call it Bravia, and  some Toshiba's call it Regza

The pairing mode thing does work to pair it, it says it's paired, but it still doesn't work.

      Cec is enabled.

It's a Panasonic TB-65W60AEY. I've tried every combination of 4 letters/numbers from that to pair manually.

Which HDMI input are you using?   If it isn't already then connect the 360 to the HDMI input on your TV.

I see you tried the key test in the settings.   Make sure you have new batteries in the remote as that can make a difference.

I'm afraid you need to persevere with the "Start key testing" method.

You might see a message such as older TV's may not pair succesfully. Ignore that and keep trying.

Don't just accept a message saying it's paired as there are often more than one "options" that appear to work, and some of those don't work fully.

Keep trying the volume keys and once it is successfully muted, it then asks  if  volume up and volume down works, and then if TV info works.  You need to be able to say Yes to all of these steps before the remote is properly paired.

Also some Panasonics TV's are actually manufactured by Vestel so try that option as well.

You might also need to change the Audio output settings on  the 360 to one of the PCM options.
