360 upgrade now audio issues

Hello,

I upgraded to 360 last week and it's causing my soundbar to cut out intermittently and VERY frequently. It's definitely an issue with the tivo box and new software as it's never happened until now, and I have no issues when watching via apps on TV outwith the box.

Any help would be great,

Thanks

    Are you using a soundbar?

Have you tried changing Match frame rate on the 360 via Settings > Audio & Video > Match frame rate?  If it's set to ON then people do see a blackout/or hear a sound drop when the 360 or HDMI reconfigures for the difference in frame rate.(This is more noticable on live TV when switching from adverts back to a program, or changing channels)

If it's set to the default (OFF) then the box just accepts the frame rate difference which isn't noticeable by most users and shouldn't blank the screen out.  (Either way try toggling this setting to see if it improves your issues)

Also what is selected under Settings > Audio & Video > Audio output ?  There are  3 options > Follow Content, PCM 5.1 (HDMI only), and PCM 2.0
Choose whether you want the audio output to follow the quality of the original content (Dolby Digital where available) or to be converted to PCM  2.0 (stereo) or PCM 5.1 (uncompressed multi channel sound). Using PCM settings may resolve audio sync issues. Netflix will always use Follow Content. Use 'Follow Content' for any bitstream audio like Atmos where it's available on content.

  • Hello,

    Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I am using a Samsung soundbar. I've followed your advice and toggled some settings. I changed the match frame rate from default to on, and also the pcm to follow content...so far so good!

Hopefully that's the problem solved 🤞

Thank you so much for your help!

      Update...

After watching a while and trying all variations of the 360 settings it is actually still cutting out. When I watch Netflix/Prime on the TV apps with the tivo box on it seems to interfere with the sound and still cuts out, only when the box is off I have no issues. This is only started since upgrading.

        Hi 1975spook

Welcome back to the Community Forums.

Sorry to hear that you're having issues with your sound cutting out. What happens when you remove your soundbar from the set-up, please? Do you find that the sound cuts out between just the set-top box and the TV?
